Short answers to the questions people ask most about sending and signing documents with mohar.ink.
Yes. Creating an account, sending documents and signing them costs nothing, and signers do not pay. If that changes, account holders get at least 30 days’ notice by email first, as the Terms of Service explain.
No. Each recipient gets a personal link by email and signs in the browser. Only the person who sends documents needs an account.
PDF, PNG and JPEG files, up to 25 MB each. An image becomes a one-page PDF when you upload it. One envelope holds up to 20 documents and 100 MB in total. A password-protected PDF has to be uploaded as an unprotected copy.
Upload the PDF, add the people who need to sign, place the fields for each of them and send. Each person gets an email link, fills in their fields and finishes. How to sign a PDF online walks through both sides step by step.
Yes. The signing page works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. You can draw your signature with a finger, type it, or upload a picture of it.
Every recipient opens a personal link sent to their own email address. For more assurance, the sender can add an access code that they give the recipient themselves, or ask for a 6-digit code that we email when the link is opened. The method used is recorded in the audit trail and on the certificate of completion.
In the United States, the ESIGN Act and the state laws based on UETA generally give electronic signatures the same legal effect as handwritten ones, with some exceptions. Laws differ by country and state, and this is general information, not legal advice. Are electronic signatures legal? explains more.
A PDF that comes with every completed envelope. It lists each document with its SHA-256 hash, each recipient with how they were checked and when they consented, viewed and finished, and the full audit trail. It also carries the document ID and a link to the verify page.
Enter the document ID printed on the PDF at mohar.ink/#verify, or open the link in the completion email. Compare your file’s SHA-256 hash with the one shown there, and check the seal in your PDF reader. How to verify a signed PDF covers each check.
Yes. You can continue with a Google or Microsoft account, or use your email address with a password or an emailed sign-in link. Recipients do not sign in at all: their email link is enough.
Each document is encrypted at rest, and a recipient’s link opens only their own envelope. Completed envelopes and their audit trails are kept for seven years, then deleted; drafts and cancelled envelopes are deleted sooner. The hashes used for verification are kept after a document is deleted, because they contain no readable content. The Privacy Policy has the details.
